The Gospel has been present in Thailand for nearly 200 years, yet its impact remains limited. Only 6% of villages have been reached, leaving 94% untouched. With just 0.75% of the population following Jesus Christ, the need for outreach is evident.
The Association of Free Churches in Thailand (AFT) goal is to change this by establishing village churches in every village and a district church in all 77 provinces. Our "Data-Driven Discipleship" approach focuses on identifying "persons of peace," sharing a culturally sensitive message about a relationship with Jesus, and tracking discipleship progress through data. This strategy has already led to meaningful church growth and community transformation, effectively bringing the light of Christ to unreached areas and reshaping Thailand's spiritual landscape.

Data Driven Discipleship is the AFT's systematic method of evangelizing, making disciples, and forming house and district churches that is based on Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-203. This methodology involves several key steps as shown in this diagram
The AFT estimates that it costs an average of $1,000 to establish a village church. This mount is allocated as follows:
$550 for Church Planting: The majority of these funds are used for travel expenses (gas money), allowing church planters to visit unreached villages to share the gospel and return weekly to disciple new believers for at least six months. These funds also cover baptism services and other church planting needs .
$100 for Program Support: This covers office and administrative expenses and the printing of Bibles, scriptures, and other discipleship materials.
$100 for Level 1 Training: This covers discipleship training for village church leaders
$250 per Village to establish the District Church: The AFT typically rents buildings for district churches, but may choose to build one if none are available. District churches are considered crucial as they provide a central worship center that offers security to believers and a location for in-depth discipleship, communal worship, and further gospel expansion.
It is important to note that the AFT does not provide financial compensation to the church planters or church leaders, who are volunteers supporting themselves through various means.... The costs outlined above cover the essential expenses beyond what the volunteers can manage.
The AFT employs a tiered leadership training system to train believers. This system is a hands-on discipleship experience that integrates practical application with biblical knowledge. The training isn't just theoretical but allows participants to apply their learning in real-world scenarios through ongoing practice. The system aims to ensure leadership continuity within the AFT.

The Harvest Church Database is a powerful online tool designed to map and understand the status of Christianity in Thailand and other nations. It serves as a comprehensive directory of churches within a nation, visually documenting their locations on an interactive map. This system provides a clear picture of the Christian presence and helps researchers, organizations, and ministries analyze the Church's landscape.
By offering insights into the distribution of Christians, the database plays a crucial role in shaping mission strategies. For example, the AFT's "Going Wide" initiative used its data to identify villages with limited Christian presence, driving outreach efforts to where they were needed most.
